Short version: this app collects nothing. It has no server, no account and no analytics, and your videos never leave your device.
What the app collects
Nothing. Video Compressor does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data. There is no account system, no sign-in, no advertising identifier, no analytics SDK and no third-party tracking of any kind. In Apple's App Privacy terms, the answer is Data Not Collected.
Your videos
Every video is processed entirely on your device using Apple's own AVFoundation framework. Videos are never uploaded, never sent to a server and never shared with anyone. The app works with no internet connection — you can verify this yourself by enabling Airplane Mode and compressing a video normally.
When you select a video, a temporary working copy is created inside the app's own private storage so the original in your library is never modified. Temporary files are deleted when you finish, when you cancel, and when you clear them under Settings → Storage. Leftover files from an interrupted session are removed automatically the next time the app launches.
Photo library access
Videos are chosen through Apple's system photo picker, which runs outside the app. This means the app has no read access to your photo library at all — it only receives the specific video you picked.
The only permission the app ever requests is permission to add videos to your library, and only at the moment you tap "Save to Photos". If you decline, everything else keeps working and you can still use Share instead.
Purchases
The Pro unlock is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. The app never sees your name, payment details or Apple Account. It only receives a yes-or-no answer from Apple about whether the purchase is valid, and stores that answer on your device.
Network use
The app contains no networking code. The only network traffic that can originate from it is Apple's own StoreKit communication when you open the Pro screen, make a purchase, or tap Restore Purchases. That traffic goes to Apple, not to us — we operate no servers.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
